DISCOVERING PALENQUE

Hidden away in the forest, Palenque was a Mayan city state in southern Mexico that perished in the 8th century.

The Palenque ruins date from circa. 266BC - circa. 799AD.

I started this painting in 1997 after visiting Mexico

and finally got round to finishing it in July 2023.
