In June 2023 I travelled to Hever Castle in Kent to take up the opportunity to be a wildcard entry on Sky Arts

Landscape Artist Of The Year.

On another scorching hot day (seems to be a theme with my plein-air painting)

I completed this landscape in the allotted four hours. I chose to paint the castle with a sunrise because we were there on

June 21st, summer solstice.

Although a place in the next round eluded me, I had a really good day, meeting lots of very good artists, some amateur, some professional, who created some great artworks .

Maybe you caught a glimpse of me on TV in January 2024, hopefully I made the edit.

An amazing experience.
